Fern M. Wiley
Fern M. Wiley, 98, of Richwood died Saturday, December 5, 1998 at her home.
She was a farm wife and worked on the farm. She was a former member of Mount Carmel Chapter OES, Rebekah Lodge, the Essex Pythian Sisters and the Happy Tyme Euchre Club. She worked on the election board for many years and took care of the nursery at the First United Methodist Church in Richwood.
She was born Nov. 25, 1900, in Essex to the late Charles W. and Lelia Parish Chapman and was predeceased by a grandson, Dr. Mark Wells. She married Joseph H. Wiley June 18, 1925, in Adrian, Mich., and he died Dec. 28, 1945.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan Wells of Richwood; a son, John (Barbara) Wiley of Richwood; seven grandchildren, Mary McVay, Barbara Mii-lisor, Joe Wiley, Lee Berkey, Wendell Wiley, Laurie Ross and Carol God-dard; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Fred Cheney will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Pall bearers will be Joe Wiley, Wendell Wiley, Rod Goddard, Pat Millisor, Tom McVay and John Anderson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the children's bell choir of the First Baptist church or First United Methodist Church of Richwood.
