Harry M. Risser
MEEKER — Harry M. Risser, age 89, of Meeker (formerly of LaRue) died Wednesday Feb. 24, 1999, in the evening at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton.
He was born Jan. 3, 1910, in Rawson to parents John J. and Eva (Cook) Risser.
Harry was a self-employed farmer and owned and operated the former Risser Farm Service in LaRue. He also had attended the Marseilles United Methodist Church.
On Sept. 15, 1934, he married the former Ruth E. Bechdolt, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John E. (Barbara) Finn of Spencerville and David M. Risser of Meeker; seven daughters, Joanna (Richard) Harris of Bluffton, Eleanor (Jere) Winegardner of Cridersville, Louise (Leroy) Swavel of Mount Vernon, Texas, Florence Collins of Upper Sandusky, Donna (Clyde) Swavel of Morral, Rebecca (Ron) Black of Kenton and Judith (Lynn) Elsasser of Ridgeway. He also is survived by 31 grandchildren, 42 greatgrandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois Risser; two brothers; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 27,1999, at 2 p.m. at the Meeker United Methodist Church. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue, and one hour before the service at the church.
Burial will be in the Meeker Cemetery, Minister will be the Rev. Kevin Pees.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Pall bearers for Mr. Risser will be bis grandsons.
