Marguerite E. Uhl
NASSAU BAY, Texas — Marguerite E. Uhl, age 84, formerly of the New Bloomington, Ohio, area, died late Saturday evening, Aug. 14, 1999, at the Christus St. John Hospital in Nassau Bay, Texas.
She was born March 15, 1915, in Ashley, Ohio, to parents Frank and Pearl (Howison) Bryant.
On June 4, 1938, she married Donald E. Uhl, and he died July 2, 1982.
She is survived by two sons, Ted E. (Patricia) Uhl of Hesperia, Calif., and Jon L. (Karen) Uhl of League City, Texas; grandchildren, Amy Uhl-Lakhore, Susan Jimenez, Jenifer Miller, Tamara Uhl and Serena Uhl; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Victoria, Madelynn, Hannah and Lucille; also her stepmother, Ruth Bryant, survives in Marion. She was predeceased by one sister, Donnabelle Barnhart.
She was the postmaster in New Bloomington for 20 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the New Bloomington United Methodist Church, National Association of Postmasters in the U.S., Marion Senior Citizens.She and her husband, Don, built, then ran the Windy Acres Golf Course in New Bloomington for many years.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 20,1999, at 1 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue, where friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in the LaRue Cemetery. Minister will be the Rev. Dr. Keith Weller.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Bloomington United Methodist Church.
