Phillip Crabtree Jr.
MARION — Phillip Crabtree Jr., age 66, of Marion, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 19, 1999, at the home of his son, Rich, in Marion.
He was born July 26, 1933, in Jackson, to parents Philip and Ethel (Leonard) Crabtree.
He was a veteran of the Korean War in the Army. He was a dedicated employee of the Alloy Cast Steel Company in Marion for over 15 years where he worked as a lab technician. Along with his work, he enjoyed golfing and bowling.
He is survived by two sons, Rich A. (Kelly) Crabtree of Marion and Don (Kirsten) Radford of Upper Sandusky; one daughter, Kay (Shawn) Dingess of Johnstown; four grandchildren, Abigail, Eric, Brandon and Jordon; two brothers, Keith (Bonnie) Crabtree of Portsmouth and Larry (Rebecca) Crabtree of Ashland; three sisters, Lois (Del-bert) Haines of Newark, Mona (Paul) Smith of Portsmouth and Verva (Edward) Walker of Xenia.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at 1 p.m. at the Horeb Cemetery near Oak Hill with the Rev. Carver Williams officiating. There will also be veteran graveside services conducted by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 45 of Jackson. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home at 201 S. Franklin St., Rich-wood, Ohio, 43344.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at 253 E. Church St., Marion, OH 43302 and/or the Quality of Life Hospice at 458 E. Center St., Marion, OH 43302.
