William C. Rose Sr.
William C. Rose Sr., 74, of Delaware died Sunday, January 16, 2000, at the
Ohio State University Medical Center.
He was the former owner of the Bill Rose Ford/Mercury dealership in
Richwood which is now owned by his son, Bill Jr. Prior to that, he owned
the Bill Rose Lincoln/Mercury dealership in Delaware. He had been involved
for more that 45 years in the automobile business and received many awards
such as the Ford Motor Company President's Award in 1989 and multiple
Distinguished Dealer Award.
He was U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific. He
was a member of the Ostrander United Methodist Church, Richwood Mount
Carmel Lodge 303 F&AM, York Rite in Marion, Delaware Elks Lodge, N.A.D.A.,
O.A.D.A., Ostrander and Delaware Senior Citizens.
He was born July 10, 1925, in Cane, Pa., to the late Alton and Caroline
Myers Rose and was predeceased by a sister.
Her is survived by his wife, Gloria Corey Rose to whom he was married for
more than 46 years; two sons, Corey D. (Lori) Rose of Gahanna and Bill
(Vicki) Rose Jr. of Richwood; a daughter, Gloria (Reese) James of Delaware;
three grandchildren, Erica, Cory and Corey David; and two sisters, Betty
(Rush) Newsome and Virginia Birch of Pittsburgh.
Funeral services will be held at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood at
2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Scott Campbell will officiate and burial will be
at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ostrander United Methodist
Church, P.O. Box 66, Ostrander, Ohio 43061.
