Philip V. Retterer
Philip V. Retterer, 59, of Lakeview, formerly of the LaRue/Prospect and Richwood areas, died Friday, April 14, 2000, at Riverside Methodist Hospital surronded by his loving family.
He was a 1959 graduate  of Prospect High School and a member of Mari-on Enterprise Baptist Church and Lakeview Moose and Eagles Lodge. He had worked as a self-employed auto body repairman and worked at the Bill Rose Ford dealership in Richwood, Charles Auto Parts and the former Southland Chrysler dealership. He also worked as a loan originator for American Home Loans in Marion. He was known to enjoy making people laugh.
He was born Jan. 29, 1941, in Marion to the late Sterling R. and Bernice Casper Retterer.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley F. Dowell Retterer whom he married Feb. 15, 1974, in Raymond; eight children, Brian (Kim) Retterer of Rich-wood, Beth Ann (John) Boehm of Radnor, George Ratliff of Lakeview, Robert Ratliff of Marion and Brent (Brenda) Retterer, Ron (Jennifer) Ratliff, Dennis (Linda) Ratliff and Rick (Molly) Ratliff of Prospect; 21 grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Mary Lou) Retterer of Waldo; and two sisters, Carol (Craig) Skinner of Richwood and Louise (David) Columber of Marseilles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Fred Buckner Will officiate and burial will be at the Shoup (Thompson Township) Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Pall bearers will be Jim Hamilton, Roger Sparks, Tom Armstrong, Jeff Clark, Harry Mead and Jon Cooper.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Ohio, 1950 Arlingate Lane, Columbus, Ohio 43228.
