MARION — Guy E. Smith, age 90, of 1639 Marion-Waldo Road, Marion, Ohio, formerly of New Bloomington, Ohio, died Monday, June 12, 2000, at 2:15 p.m. at Marion General Hospital.
He was born March 22, 1910, in Grand Township, Marion County, Ohio, to the late Samuel A. and Myrta (Parsell) Smith. On May 27, 1933, he married Bernice Hensel, and she survives. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. One son, Larry H. Smith; three sisters, Bessie Peters, Naomi Roszman, an infant sister; and one brother, Lloyd S. Smith, are all deceased. Mr. Smith graduated from Marseilles High School and Marion Business College. Member of the New Bloomington United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer for 52 years. He taught the Men's Brotherhood class and was Sunday school superintendent, and also chairman of the trustees of the church.
