Clara May "Cricket" Dowell
Clara May "Cricket" Dowell, 81, of Magnetic Springs died Friday, March 2, 2001, at her home.
She had worked at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware for 26 years and was currently working at Odd Lots in Marysville.
She was bom May 13, 1919, in Mason County, W.Va., to the late Edgar Walter and Altha Rose Mitchell Roseberry and was predeceased by a son, Danny Dowell; two brothers, four sisters, a grandson; and two great-grandchildren. She married George Okey Dowell April 19, 1939, and he died Aug. 7, 1978.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Retterer of Lakeview, Phyllis (Mike) Clevenger of Magnetic Springs and JoAnn (Leonard) Maynard of Marion; a son, George Okey (Debbie) Dowell of Bucyrus; 14 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Cook of West Virginia and Nellie Knox of Texas; and a daughter-in-law, Sue Dowell of Marion.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Shoup (Thompson Township) Cemetery. The Rev. Harry Meade will officiate. There will be no public calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Grady, 561 W. Central Ave., Delaware, Ohio 43015.
The Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood is handling arrangements.
