Kenneth R. Thompson
LARUE — Kenneth R. Thompson, age 37, of LaRue, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at 5:05 p.m. at his home.
He was born March 10, 1964, in Marion, to Patty Crager and the late Carl D. Thompson. c
He was a disabled veteran, serving with the United States Army for seven years. Since his accident in 1988, he has made his home with his mother and stepfather. He was a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America. He participated in the wheelchair Olympics, winning gold medals in bowling, weight lifting and billiards. Although a paraplegic, he enjoyed hunt-ing and fishing.
He is survived by his parents, Patty and Jim Crager of LaRue; a brother, Carl (Lisa) Thompson of LaRue; a sister, Penny (Doug) Rose of LaRue; stepbrothers, Alex (Colleen) Crager of Westerviile, Phil (Bethani) Crager of Columbus, Jaime Crager of Fort Myers, Fla., a special cousin, Renee Harger of Marysville; and special friends, Cami Dildine and Lorraine Hix both of Marion; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl D. Thompson, grandparents, Gertrude and Homer Huntley. Marvin and Verna Thompson; aunt, Shirley S. Wood and uncle Marvin "Butch" Thompson.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the LaRue Cemetery. Minister will be the Rev. Bill Middleton. Friends may call at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday. There will be graveside military ites conducted by the Marion Area United Veterans Council.
Those who wish may make contributions to either the Hunt-ington Disease Society or the Quality of Life Hospice.
