Elmo S. Clevenger
PROSPECT Elmo S. Cle-venger, age 74, of Prospect, died Friday evening, June 22, 2001, at the Marion General Hospital.
He was born Sept. 28,1926, in Arno, Va., to the late Crocket and Edith (Davidson) Clevenger.
Elmo was a welder, having worked for more than 20 years at the Huber Warco Co. in Marion, then for Plant City Steel in Marion and finally retiring from Marysville Steel in 1992.
He was a veteran of the Korean conflict in the Marine Corps and he enjoyed C.B., ham radio and playing golf.
On Oct. 26, 1957, at her mother's home, Elmo married the former Ruby J. Dun-nan and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Stuart (Keiko) Clevenger of Plain City and Raymond Clevenger of State College, Pa.; one grandson, Erik Clevenger of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Stella (Paul) Fra-zier of Austin, Texas; five nieces and five nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Thansler, Junior, Jack, Buford, Daniel and Ed Clevenger.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 25, 2001, at 3 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood, where friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Minister will be the Rev. John Jones. Burial will be in the Shoup (Thompson Township) Cemetery. There will be a veteran service conducted by the Marion County United Veterans Council at the cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
