Richard E. Fiedler

LARUE — Richard E. Fiedler, age 78, of 2746 Dry Lane Road, LaRue, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at 8:08 a.m. at his residence.
He was born Sept. 27, 1923, in Marion County, to the late George E. and Muriel L. (Hol-loway) Fiedler.
On March 1,1977, he married Rose M. Pritchard and she survives.
Also surviving is one son, Robert E. Fiedler of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one stepson, Edgar (Esther) Reebel of LaRue, two stepdaughters, Shirley
(Leroy) Allen of North Carolina, Dortha (Ray) Conley of Kentucky; two grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchil-dren.
One sister, Margery Fiedler is deceased.
Mr. Fiedler was retired from B. F. Goodrich Co. served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II aboard the ships Henry Hadley and LaSalle Seam. Member of the American Legion Post 888 of Columbus, member of the Warren G. Harding Lodge 70 F & AM, Aladdin Shrine of Columbus, Lydia Chapter 83 OES and the Marion Shrine Club, member of the Marion Senior Center and the Hardin Senior Center and the U.R.W.A-AFL-CIO Retirement Club. He also farmed.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Steve Hess. Burial in the Grove Cemetery in Kenton. The family will receive friends two hours before service time on Saturday at the funeral home in LaRue.
Those who wish may make contributions to either the Hardin Hospice Care or the Hardin County Cancer Society.
