Clara Mae Baker
Clara Mae Baker, 79, of the Essex area died Friday, May 10,2002, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born March 3,1923, in Union County to the late Glenn and Carrie Watering Hines.
A 1940 graduate of Richwood High School, she was a homemaker and devoted member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Prospect and its Katherine Luther Circle. After 12 years of service she retired from the Whirlpool Corp. She enjoyed watching and listening to sports, especially the Reds and Buckeyes.
Survivors include her husband, Glee E. Baker, whom she married Sept. 27, 1940, in Pomeroy; four sons, Don Baker of Marion, Dennis (Virginia) Baker of Richwood, Russell (Sheryl) Baker of Forest and Bill (Ceena) Baker of Delaware; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step grandson; and two step great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Helen) Hines of Somersville and Glenn (Twila) Hines Jr. of Richwood; and a sister, Wanda Jane Foreman of Mt. Victory.
Preceding her in death were a grandchild and sister, Helen Boohl.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at-11 a.m. at the church.
Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Bull officiating.
In keeping with her wishes, those who wish may make donations to the Lutheran Social Services and/or the Lutheran Association of Missionaries & Pilots.
