PORTLAND, Ore. — Mariam Frances Burdge, age 92, of Portland, Ore., died Monday, July 1, 2002, at 4:45 a.m.
She was born May 21,1910, in Castalia, Ohio. Her maiden name was Prentice. On Dec. 25,1932, she married Alonzo M. Burdge and he died April 30,1996. She was also preceded in death by twin daughters, Jocelyn and Judith, on Nov. 29,1935. She is survived by two sons, Rabel J. (Joyce) Burdge of Bellingham, Wash., and Myron A. (Judy) Burdge of Wadmalaw Island, S.C.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lois Prentice of Sandusky. Mrs. Burdge was a home-maker and lived in the Portland area for 43 years. She was a charter member of the Vermont Hills United Methodist Church, graduated from Castalia High School in 1928 and Sandusky Business School in 1929, active member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2002, at 3 p.m. at the LaRue Cemetery. Minister will be the Rev. Edward W. Fugate. There will be no calling hours. The Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue is in charge of arrangements. Those who wish may make contributions to the LaRue United Methodist Church, 166 N. High St., LaRue, OH 43332.
