William W. "Bill" Denman
BYHALIA — William W. "Bill" Denman, age 84, of the By-halia area, died Friday morning, Oct. 25, 2002, at the Ohio State Medical Center following a nine-week battle with pancreatitis.
He was born Nov. 26,1917, in Bowling Green Township, Marion County, to the late Benton E. and Mildred (Thomasson) Denman.
Bill was a 1936 graduate of the LaRue High School, had worked as a farmer and carpenter in the Meeker and Byhalia areas, was a lifetime member of the Meeker Sportsman Club, member of the Maumee Valley Moose Legion No. 30, member of the Kenton Moose Lodge No. 428, member of the Carpenter's Union No. 976 in Marion.
He had been on a bowling team for many years in the area and loved to play pool.
On Sept. 14, 1941, in New Bloomington he married Donna James and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Carol) Denman of Alexandria, Va. (formerly of Marysville), and Keith (Marsha) Denman of Chesapeake, Va.; a daughter, Constance (Barry) Reese of Plain City; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; two step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren; brothers, Benton (Joan) Denman Jr. of New Bloomington, Joel E. (Sherry) Denman of LaRue; sisters, Ruth (Eston) Williams of LaRue, Joan (Neil) Denman of Marion, and Phyllis (Charles) Leeth of Marion.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Eugene Denman; a grandson, Kirk Grose; a brother, Victor Denman; three sisters, Letha Shirea, Ferol Kale and Ima Robinson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28,2002, at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue, where friends may call 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27,2002. John Cramer will be officiating. Burial will be in the LaRue Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Humane Society, 16540 County Home Road, Marysville, Ohio 43040.
