Hulda G. Olson
RICHWOOD — Hulda G. Olson, age 93, of 17 Lynn St., Richwood, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at 3:20 a.m. at Maplewood Nursing Center in Marion.
She was born Jan. 21,1910, in Green Camp, to the late Harry E.  and  Minnie  C.  (James) Millington.
In 1938, she married John T. Olson Sr. and he died Oct. 6, 1967.
She is survived by three sons, John T. Olson Jr. of Richwood, Richard F. (Peggy) Olson of Kenton and Edward W. (Pat) Olson of Mansfield; one sister, Abigail j (Ed) Shark and one brother, Isaiah Millington, both of Rich-wood; seven grandchildren, Eric, David, Vicki, Christopher, Kurt, Stephen and Douglas all Olsons, six great-grandchildren, Terri, Eric, Logan, Aaron, Jenna and Lauren, all Olsons, and Chandler Teems.
She was preceded in death by one son, David E. Olson and one sister, Reatha Smeltzer and six brothers, Clint, Frank, Mark, Paul, Ernest, and Jack, all Millingtons.
In 1927, she entered the Sal- / vation Army Training College in New York City. Upon graduation / she was commissioned a lieutenant and served as an officer in New York City and Cleveland for 10 years. She lived in New Jersey for many years and worked at the Long Branch Memorial Hospital as a practical nurse. She subsequently moved back to her hometown of Rich-wood in March of 1960. Locally we was active in the Navy Moth- I ers Club and in the First Baptist Church. She worked for many years providing home care as a nursing assistant until 1992.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Minister will be the Rev. Alan Perkins. Burial in the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Richwood from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
