Harold L. Dildine
Harold L. Dildine, 82, of Morral died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus
He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and worked in agriculture all his life. He, his father and his brother operated the former Dildine Feed Mill in Raymond for 25 years and he managed the Green Camp Cooperative elevator. Most recently, he worked with insurance and estate planning.
He was a past president of Ohio Grain and Feed, an active member of the Ohio Seed Improvement Association and a charter member of Wood/Longbrake VFW Post in Raymond. He was on the building committee at Marion General Hospital at the time of the north addition, had been a Republican committeeman and was active with sponsorship of 4-H and FFA. He was a member of the Green Camp Lions Club and American Legion Post 584.
He was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Richwood to the late Paul and Mildred Moehn Dildine and was predeceased by a son, Dale Wendell Dildine and a brother, Bill Dildine.
He is survived by his wife, Laurabel Stratton Dildine whom he married June 28, 1946, in Raymond; a daughter, Diane (Doug) White of Morral; a son, Don Dildine of Marion; Five grandchildren, Wes and Lori White and Paul, Amber and Sammie Jo Dildine; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Douglas Dean will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery where veterans graveside services will be conducted by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214, or the American Cancer Society, 1105 Mount Vernon Ave., Marion, OH 43302.
