Frank A. Davis
Flag Frank A. Davis, 78, of Richwood died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at his home.
He was retired from the Eaton Corporation in Marion and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in LaRue.
He was born Sept. 20, 1925, one of 18 children of the late James and Desi (Kramer) Davis and was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Harold, Foster, Richard, Lavern, Herb, Alberta, Josephine, Bob, Lloyd and Floyd; brothers-in-law, Albert Amato and Carmel (Mari-alyce) Amato; and a grandson, Michael.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Amato Davis whom he married March 8,1947; children, Randall (Diana) Davis, Steve (Brenda) Davis, Angela (Paul) Phipps, Bruce (Marsha) Davis and Keith (Linda) Davis of the Richwood area; grandchildren, Miki (Brian) Palmer and Tami (Brodie) Rochenbaugh of Marysville, Stephanie (Jeremy Massie) Phipps, Franny (Breht Fillinger) Davis and Brandon, Brock, Alison, Emily and Timothy Davis of the Richwood area; a step-grandchild, Lisa (John) McGuire of Plain City; great-grandchildren, Joey Palmer and Eli Rockenbaugh of Marysville and Raven Wendling Phipps of Richwood; a step-great-grandchild, Robbie Barclay; brothers and sisters, Carroll (Jean) Davis of Gahanna, Kramer (Mabel) Davis of London, Betty Wycoff of Marysville, Peggy (Vernon) Wood of Milford Center, Cecilia Pack of Urbana, Mary Gebhart of Arizona and Flora (John) Demattio of Novelty; brothers-in-law, Larry (Ruth) Amato and Frank (Dottie) Amato of Delaware; and more than 200 surviving nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in LaRue. The Rev. Joseph Losh will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery where veterans graveside services will be conducted by Richwood VFW Post 870 and American Legion Baccarat Post 40. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home where a Rosary service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
