Myrtle Marie Flick
MEDINA — Myrtle Marie Flick, age 91, of Nettleton Road, Medina, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at 5:35 p.m. at Medina General Hospital.
She was born May 3,1913, in Cleveland, to the late Arnold and Marie (Schendel) Herbkersman.
On May 23,1934, she married Harold F. Flick and he died March 19,1994.
She is survived by one son, David (Kay) Flick of Galion; three daughters, Frances (Charles) Zacharias of Wellington, Barbara (Edward Sr.) Stofcheck, LaRue, and Carol (Charles) Leu of Medina; 13 grandchildren and 27 greatgrandchildren. One brother, Earl Herbkersman and one sister, Gladys Herbkersman, are deceased.
Mrs. Flick was making her home in Medina at the home of her daughter Carol since 1999. She lived in Galion from 1970 to 1999, in Litchfield from 1945 to 1970, Lodi from 1942 to 1945 and Parma from 1934 to 1942. Member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Medina and the Bible study at the church, she graduated from West Tech High School in Cleveland in 1931. She loved to read her Bible, books and did much handwork. She especially loved to quilt and make knitted things for her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and she raised her children to love thy neighbor. She taught them faith. She didn't produce just individuals but a family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 16,2004, at 11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 129 W. Walnut St., Galion. Minister will be the Rev. Ronald Keller. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery in Galion. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church. The Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue is in charge of arrangements.
Those who wish may make contributions to Peace Lutheran Church.
Pallbearers will be the seven grandsons, Mark Zacharias, Edward Stofcheck Jr., Kyle Stofcheck, Bryan Leu, Jei Flick, Todd Flick and Troy Flick.
