RICHARD W. "BILL" DEWITT
Richard W. "Bill" DeWitt, 97, of Green Camp died Saturday at the Maplewood Nursing Home in Marion.
He was born Jan. 24, 1907, in Taylor Township, Union County, to the late George and Jennie Mulligan DeWitt.
An Army veteran of World War II, he worked for the Union County Highway Department and then for many years at the Rockhold Quarry in York Center. He was a member of the Raymond VFW Post 9909 and enjoyed Fishing and gardening.
On Aug. 14, 1928, he married Geneva L. Rockhold and she died July 6, 1998.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Van Fleet of Worthington; numerous nieces and nephews including Barbara (Bob) Ritchie of Green Camp, whom Bill and Geneva helped raise; sisters-in-law, Anne DeWitt of Delaware and Twilah DeWitt of Taveres, Fla.
Preceding him in death were five brothers and four sisters. . Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood where friends may call one (lour prior to the services. The Rev. Scot Gorsuch will officiate and burial will be in the York Cemetery where veteran graveside services will be conducted by the Richwood VFW and American Legion posts.
, Memorial donations may be made to the Mobile Meals program of Marion County at 326 S. Prospect St., Marion, OH 43302.
