Joseph M. Salomon
Joseph M. Salomon, 96, of Richwood died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at his home. A resident of Richwood for the last six years, he formerly lived in Newark and Cleveland.
He was a retired union steel worker, working with the Chase Brass and Copper Company in Cleveland for 50 years. He was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed sports, especially football and the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time with his cat, Romeo. His family was very important to him and any time they got together, it was special for him.
He was born Nov. 7, 1907, in Cleveland to the late Joseph and Mary Salomon and was predeceased by a son, Joseph A. Salomon; two brothers, Rudy and Edward Salomon; a sister, Marie Slogar; and his wife, Ann H. Skerbec Salomon.
He is survived by a daughter, JoAnn (Bill) Brown of Richwood; grandchildren, Rebecca (Michael Bonaventura) Jeserinac, Cena (Chris) Ladefoged, Reddy (Michelle) Brown, Ray Jezerinac, Joe Jez-erinac, Mike (Candra) Brown, Ben (Mindy) Brown and Steve Brown; great-grandchildren, Alex Brown, Dylan Brown, Rachel Ladefoged, Adam Brown, Paul Ladefoged, Rhett Brown and Ashton Brown.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Newark. The Rev. Robert Penhallurick will officiate and burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood where the Rev. David Poliafico will officiate at a prayer service at 5 p.m.
Pallbearers will be the deceased's grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Memorial contributions may be made to loving Care Hospice, 113 S. Main St., Marysville.
