Robert Lee January Jr.
Flag Robert Lee January Jr., 50, of Marion died Saturday evening, February 26, 2005 at his home after a 3-year illness. He was born Jun 12, 1954 in Marion, OH to Robert Lee January Sr. (deceased) and Jean L. Drown January, who survives in Prospect.
He had previously worked on oil rigs for Baker Oil Tools in Louisiana and as a welder for LTV Steel. He was an avid ham radio operator, going by the call sign KB5SJK. He loved camping with his family. He had previously been the Emergency Coordinator for Marion County and was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
On Nov 5, 1976 he married Ruth Schneider, who survives in Marion.
He is also survived by 3 sons, Clint (Kisha) Valentine, New Iberia, Louisiana; Robert (Emma) Valentine, New Iberia, Louisiana; James January, Marion; 2 daughters, Sherry and Michelle January, both of Marion; 2 brothers, Richard (Bonita) January, Marion; Roger January, Marion; 2 sisters, Robin (Larry) Wickham, Marion; Meri (Rick) Skilliter, Bluffton, OH; grandmother Glorine Drown, Prospect, and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Randall January.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect, OH with Rev. David Carlyle officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM.
