James R. Brown, 60, of Richwood died unexpectedly Saturday, March 12, 2005, while driving to see his mother in Iowa.
He was a supervisor at the Union Tank Car Company in Marion where he had worked for the past 23 years. He enjoyed motorcycling and four wheeling, doing yard work, going on family trips and being around his family, especially his grandchildren. He was bom Dec. 9,1944, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.to Leo and Marcella Kealy Brown and was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his mother of Council Bluffs; his wife Karen L. Foster Brown whom he married 1963 in Council Bluffs; children, James (Dawn) Brown Jr. and Kimberly (Rodney) Rivers of Marion and DeAn-na (Tony) Goins and Donna (Arturo Cruz) of Richwood; grandchildren,. Amber Rivers, James Brown III, Alicia Brown, Renee Goins, Austin Rivers, Justin Goins, Taylor Casperson, Ryan Goins, Kennedy Casperson, Dylan Brown and Nicholas Cruz; brothers and sisters, Larry (Judy) Brown of Arizona and Donald (Gay) Brown, Dolores Sutton and Donna (Norm) Holz of Council Bluffs. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Richwood. The Rev. Jerry Bentley will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to a college fund for his grandchildren.
