Arthur J. Adams
Arthur J. Adams, 82, of Richwood, died Sunday morning, April 10, 2005,
at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.
He was a 1940 graduate of Richwood High School and was a retired product
engineer of 15 years at the former Marblecast Co. in Richwood. He was a
member of Richwood Civic Center and the Richwood VFW Post No. 870.
He enjoyed music, especially Big Band music, and he also enjoyed going
dancing. He was a true wood craftsman, having the talent to make
anything out of wood.
He was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Toledo, to the late James Lee and Florence
Southward Adams. He also was preceded in death by his stepmother,
Beatrice Mosier Adams; his wife, Marion L. Erwin, whom he married June
16, 1946 in Somersville, and who died Sept. 14, 1990; a brother, Chuck
Adams; and a half-brother and sister, Bill Adams and Ivaloo Adams.
He is survived by four children, John (Donna) Adams of Richwood, Pat
Daymude of Marysville, Candy (Kevin) Matney of Erie, Mich., and Becky
(Jerry) Whittaker of Bucyrus; eight grandchildren, Mike (Dena) Adams,
Stacy (Jim) Paul, Mark Daymude, Melissa (Matt) Acker, Wendy (David)
Hamlin, Rita (Jason) Ford, Christy Georgeson and Tammy Doncouse; 18
great-grandchildren; a sister, JoAnne Grove of Temperance, Mich.; and
half-brothers and sisters, Donald (Mary) Adams of Temperance, Roger
(Phyllis) Adams, Clona (Don) Baker and Eileen Teachout, all of Toledo.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11
a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Stofcheck Funeral Home,
Richwood. The Rev. Fred Cheney will officiate and burial will be at
Claibourne Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mobile Meal Program of Union
County.
