Arthur C. "Ozzie" Sedgwick Sr.

Arthur C. "Ozzie" Sedgwick Sr., 85, of Urbana, formerly of Richwood,
died Sunday afternoon, June 12, 2005, at his home.
He was born Nov. 29, 1919, to the late Ernest and Mary S. Ranier
Sedgwick. He was a retired mechanic, working for the Ford garages in
Richwood and Marion. He also had worked as a federal grain inspector.
He was a former member of the Central United Methodist Church in
Richwood and had been attending the Beatty Freewill Baptist church.
Preceding him in death were wives, Harriett M. Mitchell and Vanetta
Hinderer; and sisters and brothers, Louise Sedgwick, Bessie Marvin,
Margaret Marvin, Marvin Sedgwick and Kenny Sedgwick.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Godwin, whom he married Oct. 26,
1994; children, Arthur C. (Stacie) Sedgwick Jr. of Richwood and Marianne
(James) Wood of Urbana; stepchildren, Floyd (Cleo) Godwin of Marysville
and David (Patty) Godwin and Evelyn Reudin of Bellefontaine;
grandchildren, Roger (Melody) Rivers, Rodney (Kim) Rivers, Shauna
(Richard) Shane, Lorena Coder, James Rivers, Trey, Kinsey, Shelby,
Courtney, Lauren and Kayla Sedgwick; step-grandchildren, Darren and
Victoria M. Godwin; great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Julia, Nickolas, Amber
and Austin Rivers, Laura Burbaugh, Natalie and William Shane, Eric and
Luke Coder and Blaine Rivers; step-great-grandchildren, Marina Smith and
Cody Welch.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Beatty Freewill
Baptist Church where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Pastor Steve Wallace will officiate. Private burial will take place at a
later date at Claibourne Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Community Hospital, 530
S. Burnett Road, Springfield, Ohio 45505; the Beatty Freewill Baptist
Church, 3107 Springfield Xenia Road, Springfield, Ohio, 45506; and/or
the Stofcheck Funeral Home, P.O. Box 122, Richwood, Ohio, 43344.
