Rev. Gerald Pasma
Flag LARUE — The Rev. Gerald Pasma, age §7, of 8385 LaRue-DeCliff Road, LaRue, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at 4:05 p.m. at his residence.
He was born Sept. 18, 1918, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to the late Andrew and Fannie (Ten Hoor) Pasma.
On Dec. 7, 1945, he married Marian Hoebeke. She died in March 1979. On Jan. 15, 1980, he married Marion Hanschen and she died Aug. 25, 2005.
He is survived by sons, the Rev. Tim (Rebecca) Pasma of LaRue, Andrew G. (Deanna) Pasma of Singapore, and Mike (Sandy) Hanschen of Laramie, Wyo.; daughters, Miriam S. Pasma and Marnee (the Rev. Bruce) Brandenburg, both of Minneapolis; 18 grandchildren; brothers, James (Faye) Pasma of Holland, Mich., Eugene (Lois) Pasma of Hudsonville, Mich., and Ted (Ethel) Pasma of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sisters, Grace (Marvin) Verwys of Grand Rapids, Mich., Eunice (Dale) Raar of Birmingham, Mich., and Faith Gauger of Grand Rapids, Mich.
One son, Peter Hanschen. and two sisters, Lois Smith and Clara Pasma, are deceased.
The Rev. Pasma was a Baptist minister for more than 40 years. He served churches in Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana and Minnesota. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps 1141st Quartermaster Co. 100th Bomber Group. He was a member of the 4th Baptist Church in Minneapolis.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at 11 a.m. (Indiana time) at the Olive Cemetery near Wakarusa, Ind. Ministers will be the Rev. Tim Pasma and the Rev. Bruce Brandenburg. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at 1p.m. at the LaRue Baptist Church, LaRue.
