RICHWOOD — Betty Jane Davis, age 67, of Richwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning, Oct. 25, 2005, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born July 11,1938, on the old Whitney Farm on Ohio 31 just north of Marysville, where the North Woods of Mill Valley is located, to the late Lester and Mary Kathryn (Mouser) Davis. Betty attended Byhalia -York High School with the class of 1957, she attended the Byhalia Friends Church, she also loved to collect things such as teddy bears, Santa Clauses, angels and more. In 1954, she married Ernie McElroy and he survives in Rich-wood. She was then married to John Beckley in 1973, and he is deceased. She was an employee of the O.M Scotts Co. from 1969-1982, she then went to work at Honda Motorcycle Plant in 1983 and retired in 2000. Surviving are her six children, Connie (Denny) Wilson of Rich-wood, Jeff (Kendra) McElroy of Delaware, Tim (Judy) McElroy of Richwood, Randy (Deb Brady) McElroy of Richwood, Robert (Teresa) McElroy of Richwood and Skip (Christine) McElroy of Marion; sisters, Virginia (George) Jewell of Marysville, Janet Wiley of Richwood and Peg Gray of Marysville; 13 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood, where friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Broadway Cemetery. Ministers will be Dale Baker and Glen Althouse Pall bearers will be Betty's grandsons. Memorial donations may be made to the Loving Care Hospice at 113 S.
