Doris J. Thompson
CHILLICOTHE — Doris J. Thompson, age 63, of 117 Fowler St., Chillicothe, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at 11:02 p.m. at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
She was born Jan. 26,1942, in Unionville Center, to Eskel Harris and Maxine M. (Fields) Thompson.
On June 2, 1963, she married George G. Thompson and he survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Maxine M. Burk and her stepfather, Roy Burk of Marion; two sons, Daniel G. Thompson of Grove City and David M. (Gracie) Thompson of Laurelville; two daughters, Carolyn Rose (Jim) Chute and Anna Nikki (Thomas) Meehan, both of Delaware; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Pat and Bill Burk, both of Marion; three brothers, Charles (Chris) Thompson, Kenneth (Part) Thompson and Leonard (Geneva) Thompson, all of Marion; four sisters, Ruth Ann (Eugene) Dunn, Faye (Terry) Welch and Mary Dunn' and friend, Russell Ward, all of Marion, and Donna (Michael) Queen of Portsmouth; brother-in-law Bob Austin of Chiefton, Fla.; and sister-in-law Louise Smith of Marion; two stepbrothers, Pat and Bill Burk, both of Marion; and many nieces and nephews. Her father, Eskel H. Thompson, one brother, Freddie Thompson, and sister Alice Blanton are deceased.
Mrs. Thompson graduated from New Bloomington High School and earned a BA in substance abuse counseling from Circleville Bible College, member of Kingston Church of Christ in Christian Union, worked at Help Anonymous Crisis Center of Delaware, C.A.S.A. Childrens Advocate and Paint Valley Mental Health Center. She worked at these places as a substance abuse counselor.
Funeral services will be held today, Nov. 23, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Minister will be the Rev. George Thompson. Burial in the Price Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Richwood from noon until service time today.
Those who wish may make contributions to the family in care of the funeral home.
