Walter Robertson
Flag MARION — Walter Robertson, age 87, of rural Marion, died at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at Marion General Hospital
He was bom Jan. 27,1919, in Carter County, Ky., to the late Arch and Lilly (Roberts) Robertson.
On May 25,1942, he married Agnes Moore and she survives.
He was a poultry farmer working for Indian Springs Poultry Farm, also was a machine operator at Tecumseh Products and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a fox hunter, loved to fish, and never met a stranger.
Also surviving are two sons, James R. (Carol) Robertson Sr. of Harpster and Garry L. (Dorothy) Robertson of Cynthiana, Ky.; two daughters, Jackie E. (Panfil) Costea of Cleveland and Daylene A. (Chuck) Lester of New Bloomington: 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Edgar (Marty) Robertson of Arizona, Ewing Robertson of Upper Sandusky and Ernest Robertson of Florida; and five sisters, Emma Rhoaden of Florida, Opal Haney and Merita Wolfe both of Kentucky, Christine Schenk of Upper Sandusky and Margaret McBride of Louisiana. One daughter, Sharon Sue Robertson; and three brothers, Arch Robertson Jr., Raymond Robertson and Clifford Robertson, are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13,2006, at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Robert Long. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in LaRue. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Upper Sandusky Veterans.
Those who wish, may make contributions to the Heart of Ohio Dialysis Center in Marion.
