James M. Frank
MARION — James M. Frank, age 77, of Marion, former 50-year resident of Prospect, died early Saturday morning, Oct. 7,2006, at Community Healthcare Center in Marion.
Born July 17, 1929, in Champaign County, he was the son of the late Andrew Eldon Frank and Bertha (Over-field) Frank Hord.
Jim   was  a graduate      of Kirkpatrick High School
On March 7, 1950, in Greenup, Ky., he married Nellie M. Sparks and she survives in Marion.
He worked for the former Marion Power Shovel from 1947 until 1984, and then in 1985 he founded F&S Sealing with his brother-in-law, the late Raymond Stout. Jim's home church was the Prospect United Methodist Church. He was an avid sports fan; his favorite pastime was watching the Cleveland Indians. He also was passionate about the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and horse racing, and a huge fan of Jim Thome. Jim was a member of the Prospect American Legion Post 368, past member of VFW Post 7201 Marion, Moose Lodge 889 and Elks Lodge 32 Marion.
Jim is survived by a daughter, Jane C. (Mark) Ballinger of Prospect; a son, James R. (Patty Beck) Frank of Marion; four grandchildren, Russell Frank, Stacey (Tony) Frank Hayhurst, Andrew Ballinger and Allyson Ballinger; two great-grandchildren, Maizie Frank and Warner Hayhurst; and three brothers, Donald Hord of Florida and Roger and Thomas Hord, both of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Esther Houk; two brothers, Russell Frank and Guy "Sonny" Hord; a stepsister, Rosanna Thomas; and five stepbrothers, Loren, Harold, Ralph, James and Raymond Hord.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Prospect United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, from 5-8 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood.
Memorial donations may be made to Project Faith c/o Prospect U.M. Church at 203 N. Elm St. Prospect, OH 43342.
