Harold F. Blanton
RICHWOOD — Harold F. Blanton, age 59, of Richwood, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at 2:35 p.m. at the home of his daughter, April Yates, where he was being cared for.
He was born Dec. 7, 1946, in McKenzie Branch, Volga, Ky. His parents were George and Betty (Segraves) Blanton Jr. His father is deceased and his mother survives living in Volga, Ky.
He is also survived by two daughters, Jan Wright of Cen-terburg and April (Michael) Yates of Richwood; two grandchildren, Triston Wright and Cody Yates; and special aunt Doris (Myron) Franklin of Sun-bury.
Mr. Blanton worked as a machinist at Ranco in Delaware and retired in 1987 after 25 years. He graduated from Flat Gap High School in Kentucky. An avid trap shooter, hunter and fisherman, he was close with his grandson Cody and taught him to shoot and fish. He worked on cars with his father-in-law Robbie Schmelzer. Basketball fan of the Kentucky Wildcats (Big Blue). His mother says he was the pride and joy and sunshine of their family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2006, at 1 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Minister will be the Rev. Robbie Schmelzer. Burial in the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Richwood from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday.
Those who wish, may make contributions to the Grady Hospice.
