Alma (Peggy) Marguerite Wittibslager
LARUE—Alma (Peggy) Marguerite Wittibslager, of LaRue, died at 1:40 a.m. Thursday, June 8,2006, at the home of her daughter, Barbara, in Port Orange, Fla.
She is the daughter of the late John H. and Nellie B. (Sanderson) Curtis.
On Oct. 9, 1937, she married Howard Wittibslager and he died June 21,1987.
Mrs. Wittibslager was owner/operator of an antique shop in LaRue, managed a farm also in LaRue, was a swimming and diving instructor at the YMCA and was an environmental activist. She was a member of the LaRue United Methodist Church and the J.A.M. club. She loved her family very much.
She is survived by two sons, James R. (Pat) Wittibslager of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.,. and Gary W. Wittibslager of Marion; two daughters, Patricia J. (Jerry) Sanborn of Lancaster and Barbara M. (Steve) Photiades of Port Orange, Fla.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Margaret Smith of Paulding and Colleen Griffith of Wilmington. Three sisters and one brother are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am. Monday, June 12,2006, at Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Edward W. Fugate. Burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
