Virginia E. Barry
Virginia E. Barry, 85, of Richwood, died Sunday evening, April 2, 2006, at Heartland of Marion.
She was a 1938 graduate of Richwood High School. She was retired from North Union Schools after 26 years, where she was a cook at the Claibourne Elementary School for 18 years and head cook for eight years. She also was office manager for Hertz Rent-A-Car in Marion, working alongside her husband Barney for 30 years.
She was a member for many years at Central United Methodist Church, Richwood. She enjoyed her family and friends and gardening
She was born July 18, 1920, in Richwood, to the late Charles and Blanche Richardson-Shipley Snowden. On June 8, 1940, in Columbus, she married Melvin E. "Barney" Barry who preceded her in death on Sept. 4,2002. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Robert Snowden.
Surviving are her children, Charles (Lyn) Barry of Richwood, Rosann (George) Stickford of Dublin, Robert (Pat) Barry of Marion, and Jodi (Tom) Stage of Grove City; 12 grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stofcheck Funeral Home, Richwood, where funeral services will be held rhursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bryan Lauzau officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Stickford, Tim Barry, Alan Barry, Pat Stage, Tom Clark, Mitch Rogers, Todd Cunningham and Reggie Streicher.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 188, Richwood, Ohio 43344.
