Carol May Skinner, 72, formerly of Richwood, died early Sunday morning (June 3. 2007) at the Community Nursing Center, Marion. She was bom April 20. 1935 in Union County to the late Sterling and Bernice (Casper) Retterer. She was a homemaker, member of the Prospect United Methodist Church, a former member of the Prospect Fire Department Auxiliary and the O.C.C.L. in Prospect. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, bird watching and quilting. She married Craig L. Skinner Sept. 24. 1974 in Grundy, Va., and he survives. She is also survived by four children. Randy (Lisa) Steele of Marion. Edward Steele of Waldo. Alane (Jeff) Clark of Richwood and Jonda Jones of Portsmouth: eight grandchildren; two great-grandchil- dren; and one sister. Louise Columber of Marseilles. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip and Richard Retterer. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, 201 S. Franklin St..
