Josephine Ane "Jo" Thogmartin
Josephine Ane "Jo" Thogmartin, 76, of Marysville and a former long time
resident of Richwood died Thursday evening, May 24, 2007, at the O.S.U. Medical Center.
She was a graduate of the Hartford High School, owned her own antique
shop on Route 4, Cottonwood Antiques, and had been a "Gray Lady" at the
former Polio Foundation in Magnetic Springs. She had also had worked as
an administrator at the Grady Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years,
enjoyed the theatre, reading and Gardening.
She was a devoted and dedicated member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in
Prospect, serving the church in many ways such as church council,
singing in the choir, North Western Ohio Synod Delegate, synod
Disabilities Representative, chairman of the synods ADAM Task Force,
three time DAYLE Conference for Lutheran Youth Adult Rep.
She was loved by all she knew and will be missed by all her many family
members and friends.
She was born Jan. 5, 1931 in Croton to the late George and Minnie (Fiess) Porschet.
She was preceded in death in August of 1983 by her husband, Donald Deane
Thogmartin, whom she married June of 1950. She was also predeceased by
grandsons Christopher Thogmartin and Cole Henry Goyer.
Surviving g are her children: Don (Julia) Thogmartin of Galion, Val
(Bill Belig) Thogmartin of Columbus, April (Mark) Goyer of Powell and
Lisa (John) Cleaver of Palatine, Ill. Also surviving are a
granddaughter, Jordan Dorothy Goyer, a great-granddaughter, Lauren
Bolton, four sisters, Ruth Nelson of Englewood, Fla., June (Wendell)
Shoemaker of Canel Winchester, Mary (Joe) Price of Negley, Ohio and
Linda Ryan of Jacksonville, Fla.
Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in
Richwood. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the St.
Paul's Lutheran Church in Prospect with the Rev. Russell Makant
officiating. Burial will be in the Claibourne Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church and/or
the Disabilities Ministries for the E.L.C.A.
