Clara Olive Drake
NEW BLOOMINGTON — Clara Olive Drake, age 87, formerly of New Blooming-ton, died at 4:25 p.m. Thursday, March 1,2007, at Marion Manor.
She was born Feb. 18,1920, in Wyandot County, to the late Walter W. and Nancy Ellen (Hughes) Whittaker.
On Oct. 5, 1940, she married James Ellsworth Drake and he died Jan. 11,1995.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry L. (Jacklin) Drake of Fort Wayne, Ind., and J. Thomas (Donna) Drake of Montrose, Colo.; two grand— children, Tiah Drake of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jeffrey Lee (Ann) Drake of Avilla, Ind.; two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Samantha Drake; one brother, Robert Whittaker of Wheelersburg; three sisters, Nancy E. Baker of Newark, Jean Hensel of Upper Sandusky and Irene Ferguson of Mason. Two brothers. Walter Jr. and Kenneth Whittaker; and one sister, Ann G. Imbody, are deceased.
Mrs. Drake worked as a sales person at Jerry's Fabrics, was a member of the New Bloomington United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school, was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Mary Lenox Chapter 98 O.E.S. and was a 4-H advisor for 15 years and long time member of the Richwood Civic Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at the New Bloomington United
Methodist Church. Minister will be the Rev. Edward W. Fugate. Burial in the Agosta Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour before service time on Tuesday.
Those who wish may make contributions to the New Bloomington United
Methodist Church. Stofcheck Funeral Home of LaRue is in charge of arrangements.
