Richard Edgar Millisor
Flag MARION — Richard Edgar Millisor, age 79, of Primrose Retirement Community in Marion, died Monday, Feb. 26,2007, at 3:10 p.m. at Heartland of Marion.
He was born Oct. 19,1927, in LaRue, to the late Willis and Willa (Fields) Millisor.
On Aug. 2, 1952, he married Eva Danner and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Karen I. (Larry) Strickland of Morral and Lisa J. Millisor of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Robert (Renee) Stallsmith, Jon Stall-smith, Chad (Kim) Stallsmith and Sabrina Strickland, all of Marion, Jill Strickland of Michigan, Jena Stricikland of Hilliard and Jodi Strickland of LaRue; great-grandchildren Shelby, Jacob, Brock, Brooklyn and Hunter Stall-smith, Coltin Daily, Samantha, Tyler and Josh Matrix; three brothers, Norman Miliisor and Russell (Nancy) Miliisor, both of Belle Center, and Jack Miliisor of Marion; two grand-puppies, Bauregard and Gabrielia.
He was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Millisor, brothers   Robert,   Darrel,
John, Irvin, Willis and Ralph; and one sister, Betty Amshutz.
Mr. Millisor retired from Whirlpool where he was a procurement manager. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, was an active member of the Meeker United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Ridgedale School Board.
Dick was known best for his quick wit and "devilish smile." Many will remember him as the self-appointed "Mayor of Big Island." He was blessed in getting to live his dream of 20 winters away from the cold and snow in Florida with his wife. Since he never knew a stranger, he leaves behind many friends who he hoped would remember him with smiles, not tears. He taught his grandchildren to enjoy each day and to go after their dreams, no matter how far fetched it may seem.
Graveside services will be held today March 2, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. Minister will be Pastor Christopher W. Wiseman. Calling hours were held Thursday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue.
Those who wish may make contributions to the Meeker United Methodist Church.
