Vernon was a veteran of the U. S. Army reserves. A life-long Union County resident who farmed since he was 16 years old, he retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 2001 after 35 years of service. He attended Buckeye Boys State and was a 1945 graduate of LaRue High School, where he was salutatorian of his class. Mr. Leibold worked at various jobs, including at Marion Motor Products. He was born September 17, 1941 in Newark to the late Jack and Stella (Sawyers) Lusk. He was also preceded in death by a son, Matthew David Lusk and a brother, Fred “Butch” Lusk.
