He was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Brilliant to the late Harry M. and Ella Deafenbaugh Devers Sr. and was predeceased by a son, David Harry Devers; three brothers, Charles Ivan, George Raymond and Paul Henry Devers; and a sister Barbara Bricker.
