Jacob Oscar Moore, 78, of Prospect died Friday, July 16,1993, at Marion
General Hospital after having been in failing health for several months. He retired in 1980 as a machinist at Marion Power Shovel Company. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, the Prospect senior citizens and Marion senior citizens and had been an assistant Boy Scout leader. He was born in Taylorville, Ill., on Sept. 2,1914, to the late Levi and Effie Emerson Moore. He was also predeceased by his stepfather, Elijah Hayward and a sister. He is survived by his wife Eva Hempy Moore, whom he married on June 2, 1940, in Russell, Ky.; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Marilyn) Reynolds, Round Rock, Texas; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Olive Thomas of Richwood and Blanche Robison of Columbus. Funeral services were held Monday at the Prospect United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Gehm-Ballinger-Peppard Funeral Home in Prospect. | |||
