Lester Irwin Vance

Lester Irwin Vance, 93, of
Union Manor, died Wednesday,
Aug. 23, 1995 at Memorial Hospital
of Union County. The retired
farmer had been in failing
health for several years. He was
a member of the Pharisburg
United Methodist Church.
The Union County native was
born March 30, 1902, son of
Thomas Duncan and Ivy Alice
Bonham Vance. April 11, 1923,
he married the former Lillian I.
Eddy, who preceded him in
death March 1, 1981.
Surviving are a daughter
Madalyn Johnson of Southfield,
MI; five grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren. A
daughter, five brothers and two
sisters are deceased.
Funeral services for the
former Richwood resident were
held Monday, Aug. 28 at Ballinger
Funeral Home with Rev.
Scott Nichols officiating. Interment
was at Hopewell
Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may
be made to the Pharisburg UM
Church Memorial Fund.
