Norma C. Carpenter

Norma C. Carpenter, 82, of Essex died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at Med Center Hospital in Marion.
She was a farm wife and a member of the Essex United Methodist Church and its women's society.
She was bom Aug. 5, 1916, in Hardin County to the late Greer and Ruth Cramer Gibson and was predeceased by four brothers and a sister. She married Paul V. Carpenter June 2, 1937, in Morral and he died July 21, 1993.
She is survived by three sons, David P. (Pat) Carpenter and Richard D. (Eilene) Carpenter of Richwood and Dale L. Carpenter of Arkansas; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dick (Evelyn) Gibson of Galion, Jack (Reva) Gibson of Marion, Bill Gibson of Gabon and Todd (Brenda) Gibson of Richwood; and two sisters, Ann (Herbert) James of New Bloomington and Betty (Norm) Ricker of Lima.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Winnie Bateson will officiate and burial will be at the Price Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
