Patricia Barnhart FarringtonOn a warm sunny Florida day, surrounded by the family she adored, Patricia Barnhart Farrington, lovingly known to many as Ladybug, completed her earthly work at the age of 94 on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Born November 30, 1930, in Kenton, to Wilbur and Juanita (Longshore) Barnhart, Pat grew up with a strong sense of duty and care for others. On September 10, 1947, she married Bradley Farrington. Together, they raised two children, Judy and Larry. Within the family, Larry was fondly known as “the Chosen One,” a playful title gifted by his sister Judy.

If asked to describe Pat in one sentence, the answer is simple: She worked hard and gave harder. She dedicated several years to Heartland Nursing Home as a dietician, where her unmatched work ethic was only surpassed by her compassion for those she served. Rarely missing a day, she took pride in her work and left a legacy of devotion and kindness.
Beyond her career, Pat loved the simple joys of life — mowing her lawn, tending flowers, working along Brad and Larry’s side, making handmade candies, and playing cards. But above all, she treasured time spent with her family. Over the last 15 years in Florida, she was especially blessed to witness the births and milestones of her great-great-grandchildren, a joy that lit up her days.

Pat leaves behind her loving daughter Judy (Jim) Ferguson who both cared for her faithfully until her final day; her daughter-in-law, Deb Farrington; her granddaughters Julie (Scott) Foster and Traci (Kip) Hendrickson; her great-grandson Jordan (Danielle) Hendrickson; her great-granddaughters Tess (Mike) Argila and Chloe foster and fiancé (Tony); her great-great-grandchildren Colt and Hunter Hendrickson, Isabella and Niko Argila; and bonus grandchildren Kruz, Everly, Emma and Cameron. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Wanda Barnhart, Marilyn Pugh, Dorothy Farrington, and Jean Farrington, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Bud, Gene, and Paul Edward; her beloved husband, Brad; and her son, Larry.

Ladybug’s humor, kindness, and unshakable work ethic will live on in all who knew her. Though her hands are now still, her love and legacy will forever guide ours.

Graveside services will be Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the York Cemetery with Mary Kerns officiating.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Harper Community Church, 3679 County Road 25 North, Bellefontaine, OH 43311
