I am deeply saddened by the news of Jack's death.  I've met him several times in my early years in Columbus, and then we briefly corresponded with Christmas cards. He was a bright an highly inquisitive man. I respected his genuine curiosity. Also loved his loud confidence. I still remember vividly a perfect hand drawn animal scene of his farm barn that he sent me in a Christmas card. For me he represented the true self-assured and bold American male that sometimes is portrayed in films.

I am saddened to read of Mr. Hesse’s passing from this earth. I remember him as an interesting, knowledgeable teacher who earnestly worked to make the material he taught something all students understood. He first was my chemistry teacher at Elgin and, years later, a physics tutor who worked for me at MTC. Did he ever publish the book he was working on? Praying your family will know the peace that only God can provide during this difficult time. My sincere sympathies to each of you .
