Ruth Moore

Ruth Moore, 77 of rural Marysville, passed away peacefully Tuesday June 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by loved ones.

She was born January 31, 1941 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Suzy Hicks, she was also preceded in death by one grandchild.

Ruth was one of 14 children and on March 31, 1977 she married the love of her life, Paul E. Moore, they settled in Marysville with six children.

She was dedicated and hardworking, having spent 14 years with O.M. Scotts and the 14 years with Midwest Express before retiring.

Ruth was a loving mother of six children: Vicki Risner of North Lewisburg, Annie (Dave) Feasel, Marysville, Debbie (Dana) Thompson, Marysville, David (Kelly) Risner, Richwood, Susan (Dan) Winiger, Marysville and Steve (Trina) Risner, Marysville
13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren

Ruth was proud of her large family and loved holidays and family time together, it was very important to her. She and Paul would spend hours preparing great home cooked meals for all. Her rule was children always ate first. She treasured her children and grandchildren. Much of retirement was spent shopping, canning, freezing from the garden and cooking for family.

Ruth was known for her feisty spirit, yet heart of gold. She spent her whole life taking care of others and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 2 to 5 PM at the Richwood Park in the shelter house.

So sorry to see that Ruth passed. I used to do her banking every week and thoroughly enjoyed talking to her, She will be missed.
