Iva G. Martin |
  Iva G. Martin, 81 of LaRue, died Tuesday morning, April 24, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 2, 1936 in Union County to the late Edward Wesley and Edna (Canan) Ankney. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Ankney; and a sister, Caroline Daniels.
She was a longtime member of the Union Baptist Church. Iva enjoyed camping, and loved Indian Lake. She was a big fan of OSU basketball, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. Iva was a true homemaker and family was the most important thing in her life. She loved following her grandkids in all their activities.
She is survived by her husband Raymond D. Martin, they were married February 24, 1956 in West Jackson, two sons, Richard (Terri) Martin, Springdale, Arkansas; Ron (Diana) Martin, Richwood; two daughters, Debbie James, LaRue; Brenda (Jerry Dunlap) Friend, Cuyahoga Falls; fourteen grandchildren, April (Benny) Betz, Kevin Martin, Melissa James, Julie (Dustin) Horton, Mike James, Rebecca (Gerald) Lyman, Rachel Stephens, Jessica (Nick) Curtis, Brittani (A. J.) Hough, Samantha (Matt) Distelhorst, Danae (Jamie) Marquis, Danielle (Billy) Hoff, Danara (Zach) Moore, Lizzie (Andrew) Beatty; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Union Baptist Church, 16623 State Route 739 Richwood, OH 43344 with Pastor Tim Peria officiating. Burial will follow in LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in LaRue.
Memorial gifts may be made to Loving Care Hospice, P. O. Box 613, Marysville, OH 43344 and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

To Raymond and family: So sorry to hear of your loss. Raymond and his family were such good neighbors many years ago when he was very young and I was a new inexperienced farm wife. Raymond and Iva were, to me, a wonderful example of a very happy couple. Take care and rejoice in knowing that her life was happy and fulfilled.
