Garold E. "Jerry" Mills
FlagGarold E. Mills (aka Jerry, G.E., Big G), 88, of London was born on December 18, 1929 in South Solon, Ohio. He died January 27, 2018 at OSU Medical Center as a result of a fall in early January.

He was preceded in death by his father Segal Earl & mother Florence (Cox), as well as brothers Howard, Harold and James; sisters Louise, Margaret, Ruth and Betty.

He was a graduate of Stokes Twp. High School in South Solon and attended Wittenberg University. He achieved a degree in Business Admin/Mgmt thru California Coast University in 2002 at the age of 73. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict attaining the rank of SSG/Staff Sergeant.

He was known by many as the long-time dealer Principal of Mills Chevrolet-Old-Pontiac in Richwood, Ohio, Owner/Operator of Richwood Auto & Farm Supply & Advantage III Group of Columbus, Ohio. He was also the past owner of Mills Auto Supply/New Carlisle & Dayton area.

He was a charter member of the Northridge United Church of Springfield, where he was a member of the choir for 50 years and was a long-time member of Mitchell Hills Country Club. He was a former member of the local Springfield Chapter of S.P.E.B.S.Q.A. and was twice recognized with the Chapter’s annual “Man of Note” award. His special interests were OSU Athletics, basketball, golf and his passion was baseball, having played in the Ohio/Indiana Minor Leagues for the Springfield Giants and Marion Cubs.

He is survived by his wife Ruth, 3 sons – Steve(Mindy) Delaware OH, Randy (Cynthia) Dayton, OH, Rick (Jane) Sarasota, FL.; 6 grandchildren Kelly, Chris, Adrienne, Jennifer, Meghan and Natalie; 1 great-grandchild Eleanor.

A memorial service is scheduled to be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Northridge United Church, 4610 Derr Rd., Springfield, OH. Friends are invited to come visit during the Greeting Hours of 10:00 – 12:00 prior to the service.

The family has asked the in lieu of flowers, donations be make for “Open Hands Free Store” of Springfield. Donations may be made directly to the Northridge Church by calling 937-399—1909.

Arrangements have been entrusted to The Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home & Crematory, 103 N. Main St., London, Ohio.
