I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing.  I met Mary in 2002. I was travelling across the USA doing research on my Gearhart family who were from Richwood.  Mary met me at the Richwood library and brought me two books that she had helped put together that had information about my family. I saw Mary again in 2006 on another one of my trips, I was stopping to see Martha and Ruth Sivey who were at a place in Marion and they surprised me by having Mary be there. Mary and I became the best of friends and we kept in contact via telephone. We always had such wonderful conversations. My last conversation with Mary was actually a few days before her stroke. Mary was such a wonderful woman, so warm and loving and I am going to miss her very much.

Although Mary and I have lived just about a mile apart, we first met at an Ohio Genealogical Convention in Columbus, Ohio in 1979.  After that we spent many hours meeting, traveling, working and talking about genealogy.  We even found we had two or three lines of family connections.
  She will certainly be missed.

Judy, Gary, and Leroy,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Having grown up in the Zion church of Christ I have very fond memories of your mother. Mary was my Sunday school teacher as well as that of all my sisters and brother. I remember her taking us on a field trip to see the baby chicks around Easter time. I know all of gods children are promised a home in heaven but I gotta figure Mary,s is going to be extra special.   God bless

Mary was simply lovely to behold! Through the years following Gary and Heidi's introduction, Mary became family to me. It was always with excitement and joy each time we met, laughter brimming over with that ever-present feeling of genuine friendship and love. Mary knew her grandchildren well. She faithfully shared Sundays after church with them playfully gathered together in her home. Cousins became brothers and sisters, Moms and Dads got some special hours together yet apart from their own, who adored Grandma's Sunday kind of love! Christmas Eve's Carr family gathering celebrated Mary's birthday right along with the baby Jesus. Mary was a VIP in my eyes and in the eyes of her loving children and their families, Mary's church family, her acquaintances and friends. Mary was FUN. I will miss her, but I will fondly remember Mary with love and admiration. She was a VIP, and she was family to me.
