Anne P. Fleming OrahoodElginCometsAnne P. Fleming Orahood, 89 of Prospect, died Sunday morning, January 29, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Marysville.

She was born January 31, 1927 in Prospect, to the late Lawrence and Hildred (Keller) Fleming.  On September 20, 1947 she married the love of her life, George E. Orahood and he died January 17, 2004.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Brooks Fleming.

I often think of this wonderful teacher. We moved from Marysville in 1969 to Prospect. Immediately I was was behind in my verbs and nouns and multiplication and division because Marysville hadn't started teaching it yet. This woman spent a lot of her time to get get me up to speed. I just told my parents how much I appreciated her and I always wanted to tell her that.RIP

I remember Ann best as one of my Sunday school teachers at Prospect United Methodist church.  My sisters & I also remember the day we went to visit Ann & George when he offered us 'snow shovel rides' down his driveway.  We were so tickled!

Well, well, heaven got a beautiful and wonderful angel when Anne arrived.  I helped to feed the kids at Elgin South when Anne was there, so I got to know her pretty well.  She just lived north of us a little ways.  She always had a smile and treated everybody in the building equal.  She will be sorely missed, but we shall see her again someday.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.  May God bless.

She will be deeply missed. I have and as well as many, were influenced positively throughout our lives. When I was younger, I was almost deaf and had a few ear surgeries and along with that I had speech impairment. I couldn't pronounce her name so she had me call her Mrs. Oreo and for me it stuck. She took me under her wing and took the time to help me learn and speak. RIP my sweet lady and thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I worked with Mrs. Orahood at Elgin South in Prospect for the last 3 years. She loved the children and was a great asset to them and Mrs. Ballinger as her classroom volunteer. She was a dear lady and a true professional. She was an example for all teachers. May God Bless her and her family. I am sorry that we are unable to attend services. With sincere sympathy, Fred and Margie Saull

Mike and family: Although we have not met, and I unfortunately did not know your parents, through your father (and the Weaver and Houtz families before him), you are a 3rd cousin 1x removed and your children are 4th cousins of my wife Rebecca and her siblings, children of the late Victor Phillian. We are very sorry for the loss of your mother. As a school teacher, volunteer and servant of the Lord she most assuredly was a role model and positive influence for so many others.
