Mary Marsena Miller
Mary Marsena MillerYellowRoseMary Marsena Miller, 85 of Richwood, died early Monday morning, August 15, 2016 at the Memorial Gables in Marysville.

She was born August 17, 1930 in Byesville to the late Thomas and Mildred (Spaid) Blackburn.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bernard Miller in 2005, whom she married March 28, 1953 in Centerburg; as well as a brother, Frank Blackburn and a sister, Corinne Ruby.

Marsena loved to travel with her husband, Jack all over the U. S. and enjoyed wintering in Frostproof, Florida for many years.  She was a good cook, and more than anything, she loved being a mom; spending time with her kids and grandchildren was what brought her the greatest joy.

She is survived by four sons, Michael A. (Debbie) Miller, Richwood; Tim (Mary) Miller, Dublin; Steve (Irene) Miller, Columbus; David (Lori) Miller, Ostrander; a daughter, Mary (David) Wykoff, Richwood; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Sara (Corey) Schwartz and Colton; Heather (Scott) Reed and Mason; Brian (Darie) Gray and Ian; Wendy Miller, Jeremy (Stacia) Miller and Caleb, Caven, Ethan and Blake; Derek Miller; Cinnamon Miller; Matthew Wykoff; and Rachel (Chris) Minnich.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating.  Burial will follow in Price Cemetery.  Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 5 PM at the funeral home in Richwood.

Dear Friends,
It is with much sorrow that I write you today. Marcena was a good friend and we had good times worshiping the Lord and teaching together. My heart aches for each of you as you come to terms with this great loss. Yet, I rejoice with you that, indeed, this was a Homecoming for Marcena. Her faith was strong and her reward will be great. The words "temporary separation" have offered me much comfort through the years. May it also touch your hearts. God bless you.
Glena

I am so very sorry your families have lost a devoted mother and grandmother.  Marsena was a dedicated teacher of my three sons, a dear colleague, and a cherished friend.  While at The Gables, we shared pleasant chats about our 'good old days' as fellow teachers, supporting one another in the education of young children.  I share your loss and send my prayers during this challenging time of parting.  Cheryl

Marsena taught most of our children.  She was a compassionate, caring teacher.  Her family has many reasons to be proud of the role she had in so many children's life.  God Bless all of you!  Her love and ideals will always be with you.
