Dear Amy,
I lost my dad at a very young age, and because of that I try to be sensitive to others who have had a loss.
I want you to know that I love and already miss you. I weep for your family. Your dear son who you were so very proud of needs some comforting, so remind God to do so please. If he gets annoyed, tell him it was from me. Tell him that he needs to let them see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That the pit in the bottom of their stomach will be filled someday, at least mostly.
I will make certain that the legacy of Amy Compton lives on at DealerPRO, and your son will do so whether he knows it or not. I remember when my dad died, my mother told me a saying that I will never forget, "No man is an island, we are all part of the main. Never ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee."
As you die, so does a part of me and everyone who knows you. I will feel a pit in my stomach for a while. There will be a gap that will never be able to be filled. A part of me has died when you left this world.
That quote meant a lot to me. I kept it close to my heart to this day. About ten years later, I heard another quote that was a little more uplifting, "You are a part of everyone you've ever known."
I like this one better, because I know that while you are in heaven, you are still here on earth. You are in every person who has ever known you. We never realize the number of people that we have the opportunity to touch. It is with your kindness and determination that I have been touched.
I sometimes wonder of all the people that have had an effect on me that I will never have the opportunity to know or thank. People who I have never ever met have had an impact on my life. They could be sitting there right next to you at this very moment in time.
I thank God for our short time together. You have changed my life. I was so inspired to know you before your tragic illness, but much more so after. I am indebted to you Amy Compton. I thank you so much for your short time with me.
May God bless and keep you close to him. I love and miss you so very much already.

Amy was a beautiful, golden child so loved by her family and community. Everyone watched over her and prayed through many health challenges. Amy was surrounded by devoted parents, loving family and the good people of prospect who cherished her. When we are reunited, Amy will run to wrap her parents and everyone who loved her in a welcome home hug.
